Death In June

Death In June
Death in June is a British musical project formed in the early 1980s by singer and songwriter Douglas P. (Douglas Pearce). Associated with post-punk, neofolk and experimental industrial scenes, the project evolved from a darker, abrasive sound into a sparser acoustic and martial-influenced style that often incorporates acoustic guitar, percussion, strings and orchestral samples. Death in June’s work is noted for its austere, melancholic atmosphere, baritone vocals, and recurring lyrical themes of memory, loss and European history, delivered with a minimalist, sometimes martial aesthetic. The project has released numerous albums and maintained a cult following.
