İbrahim Tatlıses is a Turkish singer and cultural figure known primarily for his work in arabesque and folk-oriented popular music. Born in southeastern Turkey, he rose to national prominence from the 1970s onward as a vocalist whose repertoire blended elements of traditional Anatolian folk, Arab-influenced melodic sensibilities, and mainstream Turkish pop. Tatlıses became widely recognized for his powerful, emotive vocal delivery and for popularizing songs that often feature themes of love, longing and social experience, performed with orchestral arrangements alongside traditional instruments.
