Soda Stereo

Soda Stereo
Soda Stereo was an Argentine rock band formed in Buenos Aires, widely regarded as one of the most influential and popular acts in Latin American rock. Emerging in the early 1980s, the trio — centered on guitarist and vocalist Gustavo Cerati, bassist Zeta Bosio and drummer Charly Alberti — blended New Wave, post-punk and pop-rock influences with melodic songwriting, stylish production and a strong sense of atmosphere. Their music featured catchy hooks, layered guitars, rhythmic basslines and use of studio effects, moving over time from danceable, synth-tinged arrangements to more textural, experimental approaches. Active primarily from the 1980s through the 1990s, Soda Stereo played a central role in the development and internationalization of rock en español.
