Yandel is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter and record producer primarily associated with reggaeton and Latin urban music. He first gained prominence as one half of the duo Wisin & Yandel, active from the late 1990s with major commercial success in the 2000s, and subsequently pursued a solo career beginning in the early 2010s. His work blends reggaeton rhythms with elements of pop, R&B and electronic production, featuring melodic vocal delivery, dance-oriented beats and themes common to contemporary urban Latin music. As a performer and collaborator he has been involved in studio recordings, live performances and productions that reflect the mainstream evolution of reggaeton into a global popular genre.
