Keko Salata is an experimental hip-hop and avant-pop project led by Los Angeles–based artist Keko Salata (real name often given as Keko Salata), active from the 2010s onward. Drawing on alternative hip-hop, electronic, and art-pop influences, the music blends beat-driven production, off-kilter rhythms, and introspective or abstract lyrical content. The project is associated with the independent underground scene in Southern California and is noted for a DIY approach to recording and performance, incorporating lo-fi textures, layered sampling, and genre-blurring arrangements that emphasize mood and sonic experimentation over mainstream pop conventions.
