Caifanes
Caifanes is a Mexican rock band formed in Mexico City in the late 1980s, associated with the Latin rock and rock en español movements. Their music blends post-punk and new wave influences with traditional Mexican sounds, including indigenous and folk elements, characterized by moody, atmospheric arrangements, poetic Spanish lyrics, and prominent use of electric guitars, keyboards and baritone vocals. Caifanes gained prominence during the late 1980s and early 1990s through a string of influential albums and singles that helped define alternative rock in Mexico, noted for their dark, cinematic aesthetic and incorporation of cultural themes into a rock framework.
