Eurythmics, Annie Lennox, Dave Stewart
Eurythmics is a British pop-rock duo formed in London in the early 1980s by singer and songwriter Annie Lennox and musician-producer Dave Stewart. Emerging from the post-punk and new wave era, their work blends synth-pop, new wave, rock and soul influences, characterized by prominent synthesizer arrangements, melodic hooks, and Lennox’s distinctive contralto vocals and theatrical persona. The pair gained international prominence through a string of hit singles and albums that combined electronic production with traditional songcraft, notable for stylistic experimentation, strong visual presentation in music videos, and a collaboration-driven approach to songwriting and studio production. They have also pursued significant solo and production careers outside the duo.
