Uzi is an American underground noise rock band formed in Boston in the mid-1980s, noted for a short but influential recorded output. Their music blends abrasive guitar textures, dense percussion and confrontational vocals, drawing on elements of post-punk, no wave and experimental rock. Uzi's sound is characterized by dissonant, heavily distorted guitars, drum-machine-like rhythms and an often claustrophobic, tense atmosphere that departed from mainstream rock conventions of the period.
