UZI, Motive

Uzi Motive (often stylized as UZI MOTIVE or simply UZI) is a Japanese experimental punk and noise rock project that emerged in the early 1990s. Rooted in Japan’s underground music scene, the project blends aggressive punk energy with elements of industrial noise, lo-fi production, and avant-garde song structures, reflecting the country’s prolific experimental rock tradition. Uzi Motive is characterized by abrasive guitar textures, confrontational vocals, and a tendency toward dissonance and distorted sonic layering, often favoring raw, uncompromising recordings over polished production. The project has been associated with independent labels and the wider network of Japanese underground acts active since the 1990s.
