Ulver is a Norwegian band formed in the early 1990s that began in the black metal scene and has since traversed folk, ambient, electronic and experimental rock styles; they are noted for frequent stylistic reinvention, atmospheric composition and an emphasis on mood and sonic exploration rather than genre orthodoxy.
