GIMS, L2B
GIMS, formerly known as Maître Gims, is a Congolese–French singer, rapper and songwriter from Kinshasa and raised in Paris, associated with pop, hip-hop and urban contemporary music. He emerged in the 2000s as a member of the rap collective Sexion d’Assaut and later established a solo career characterized by melodic vocal delivery, polished production, and blending of rap, R&B and pop influences. Active from the 2000s onward, GIMS is known for chart-oriented songs sung in French with occasional use of other languages, and for a crossover approach that combines mainstream pop structures with urban and African musical elements.
