Wir sind Helden is a German pop-rock band formed in Berlin in the early 2000s, associated with the Neue Deutsche Welle–influenced Deutschpop scene. The group combined catchy, melody-driven pop with rock instrumentation and electronic elements, notable for literate, often wry German-language lyrics addressing social and personal themes. Achieving mainstream success in Germany and German-speaking countries, their recordings and performances emphasized strong vocal hooks, tight arrangements and a blend of acoustic and synthesized textures.
