GIMS, also billed simply as Gims and born Gandhi Djuna, is a Congolese-French singer, rapper and songwriter who emerged from the Parisian hip-hop scene in the early 2000s as a member of the group Sexion d'Assaut before launching a successful solo career in the 2010s. His work blends hip hop, pop, R&B and contemporary African musical influences, often featuring melodic singing, rap verses and polished pop production; his repertoire includes both French-language songs and occasional use of other languages. GIMS is known for strong commercial appeal, crossover singles and visually stylized presentations, and has been a prominent figure in Francophone popular music since the 2010s.
