Peso Pluma (born Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, known professionally also as Estevan Plazola in some credits) is a Mexican singer-songwriter and performer associated with contemporary regional Mexican music, particularly corridos and the subgenre often called corridos tumbados or modern/nuevo corridos, as well as elements of ranchera and norteño. Emerging in the early 2020s, he gained widespread attention for blending traditional Mexican narrative song forms with modern production, melodic vocal delivery, and collaborations across genres. His work is characterized by storytelling lyrics, use of traditional instrumentation alongside trap and pop-influenced beats, and a stylized public image that has contributed to his prominence in the Latin music scene.
