La Mano 1.9, XVI

La Mano 1.9, XVI is a Mexican experimental rock and post-punk ensemble associated with the underground Mexico City scene. Emerging in the 1990s and active into the early 2000s, the group blends elements of post-punk, noise, industrial and proto-gothic textures, often emphasizing angular guitar lines, driving bass, and stark, rhythmically propulsive arrangements. Their work is characterized by a DIY aesthetic, dark atmospheric tones, and a tendency toward minimalist, abrasive production that reflects the broader alternative and independent currents of Latin American rock during that period.
